SEX COACHING
Sexual health is increasingly being recognized as an essential component of overall well-being, as sexuality and intimacy are deeply connected to a person’s general health. Like other aspects of health, sexuality is influenced by social, psychological, and biological factors.
According to sexologist Ana Alexandra Carvalheira:
“Each person’s sexuality has infinite possibilities as well as complexities. It exists on a biological substrate and is interwoven with emotions, beliefs, thoughts, and physical sensations in a fabric of social and cultural conditioning. It can be rich and dazzling, but it can also bring inhibitions, fears, pain, and misalignments when connecting with others. It’s easy for difficulties to arise in sexual experiences with another person due to differences in their histories, experiences, and expectations.”
The sex coaching approach aims to help people overcome their sexual concerns more effectively through an empowering, sex-positive, client-centered methodology. It offers an alternative path to addressing sexual challenges, difficulties, and problems. Sometimes, sex coaching simply grants permission, empowers, reframes negative messages, or provides accurate information. It can include educational processes, assignments, experiential exercises, rituals, and various other resources.
The goal of sex coaching is to restore sexual health and well-being. It typically begins with an assessment, which is essential to understanding the individual and the issues they bring, when a problem exists. Following the assessment, goals are collaboratively set, and the coach designs an intervention plan. Sessions involve private, confidential conversations—whether individual or as a couple—and utilize resources tailored to the client’s needs, incorporating diverse intervention models suited to each situation.

Sex coaching addresses these aspects of the person:
THE MIND
Focuses on information, internal dialogue about sexual performance, and the capacity for fantasy. It helps resolve thought patterns such as compulsiveness and others.
EMOTIONS
Explores feelings—past and present—about oneself and one’s body, suppressed and expressed emotions, and the ability to experience intimacy. It also examines how emotions are expressed or suppressed.
THE BODY AND BODY IMAGE
Centers on understanding one’s physical self, including recognizing body patterns and how they operate. It also involves gaining awareness of one’s sexual architecture, addressing sexual functions or dysfunctions, and developing skills to be a successful lover, alone or with a partner.
ENERGY
Sex is fundamentally about energy—its accumulation, containment, and expression. In sessions, individual or couple energy is assessed, and sex coaching provides feedback to help clients manage this often-overlooked aspect of sexuality.
SPIRIT
Engages with the essence of self, including esoteric moments, transcendent practices, and peak orgasms. It explores sacred sexuality and the ways people deny or reflect their inner self through their sexual experiences. It also addresses the path of sexuality as a means of experiencing the divine.
Sex coaching seeks to instill confidence and empowerment by fostering a safe, healthy individual sexuality. It contributes to personal development and enhances overall well-being, helping people build fulfilling and satisfying lives.
